The Basketball Cheerleaders will be hosting a memorial event in honor of former PHS Cheerleader Shelby Hohn at the doubleheader basketball game vs MVP on Thursday, February 20th. There will be lots of activities to remember her and all proceeds will go to making a scholarship in her honor, including memorial bracelets, hair tinsel, Crumbl cookies, and a Money Blanket Toss. Dress for the occasion and bust out your turquoise jewelry and wear your Shelby Strong shirts or something teal! There will also be a memorial table set up so if you would like to bring something that represents a memory or a picture to hang up please bring it with you to the game. Let's "Cheer for Shelby" and remember the awesome impact she had on our community!

Hey Trojan Den Families and Friends - dont forget those snack donations! *Big bins will be placed at both ends! Trojan den is open. please see Mrs. Mette if anything is needed! This Thursday at Parent Teacher Conferences, we’re inviting you to join our mission of fueling our students’ day—one snack at a time! Our snack bin is a cherished pit stop for everyone: from athletes gearing up for practice to students in need of a quick pick-me-up before a big test, and even those just ready to roll into a long weekend. We go through an amazing variety of treats each week, and we need your help to keep the energy high. Whether it’s pop tarts, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, Little Debbie’s, Chex mix, or any other easy grab-and-go goodies, your contributions will make a world of difference. To make it super convenient, we’ve set up donation boxes at both ends of the conference area where you can drop off your snack donations. Your generosity not only fills our snack bin but also fills our hearts with pride. Thank you for helping to keep our Trojan Den spirited, supported, and ready for anything! Go Trojans!

Tomorrow the Middle and High School will be "Blacking Out the Winter Blues" by having black lights in the hallways with the lights off! Please encourage your students to wear neon or white! Here are some mental health statistics to be aware of at home! 31.9 percent of teens have an anxiety disorder 20 percent of teens experience depression by the age of 17 83 percent of teens will experience at least one traumatic event in adolescence Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in teens aged 15 to 19 These percentages are high, but they don't have to be. We can help diminish the mental health crisis in the US by being the light in someone's day. This can be done in several ways: 1: Be Mindful: Be mindful about what you are saying to each othe and about each other. We are all human; therefore, we aren't always going to get along, but that doesn't mean we have to make the people around us feel lesser because we are feeling frustrated, angry, or sad. Take a moment to THINK about what you are going to say and decide if this is worth making another person feel as though they don't matter. We all matter and we need to show each other that we matter in person and on social media. 2. Be Helpful: If someone is struggling, don't walk the other way! Lend a hand or offer help. 3. Simply be kind: Being kind to one another in a genuine way can make a huge difference. Being kind doesn't mean you're everyone's best friend. Being kind means keeping the thoughts that are hurtful to yourself. Being kind means recognizing that we are all going through something and the last thing we need is to add to the stress of life by taking away even a moment of someone's day. Be the light
